How to Take Cannolis on Airplanes

Whether you have escaped for the weekend to Little Italy in New York, or want to bring a friend or family member an treat from their favorite home bakery, bringing cannolis on the plane can be a tricky proposition. As of 2011, the official TSA states that items such as peanut butter, cheeses and spreads should be placed in your checked baggage. However, you can bring cakes and pies through security, but they might be subject to additional screening. Since a cannoli is a pastry with a spread substance made of cheese in the center, it is probably best to check it in your luggage.
