How to Dial U.S. 1-800 Numbers From Another Country

Dialing a 1-800 number is toll-free from the United States and Canada, but outside of these locations, you will not be able to dial the number directly. When calling a 1-800 number from another country, there are additional steps that must be taken to complete the call, and there may be an additional charge that applies.

Instructions

Obtain and dial the AT&T USADirect access number for the country you are calling from using a telephone line that allows you to call outside of that country.

    • 2

When prompted, enter the 1-800 number you wish to dial out to -- enter "1-800" followed by the next seven digits.

    • 3

After the tone, enter your credit card number and the four-digit expiration date from a MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover or Diner's Club card. Your call will be connected thereafter.
