How to File an Airline Service Complaint

Airline service complaints that are not safety- or security-related should be filed with the Department of Transportation's Aviation Consumer Protection Division. These reports are collected, analyzed and disseminated to the general public, media outlets and airline service companies. In addition, aviation regulators can easily identify airline companies that are not acting in compliance with federal aviation consumer protection laws. By filing an airline complaint, individuals can help improve the quality of airline service for the traveling public. Complaints can be filed over the phone, by mail or online.
