Plan out your trip before you make your reservation. Determine the port and date of your departure, as well as what ports you intend to visit. Keep in mind that you don't have to stay on the same ferry throughout your trip. You can either deboard and walk around for a couple hours or spend several days at your destination before continuing your journey on a later ferry.
Navigate to the AMHS website to make your reservation. You will be asked to enter in your departure port and your destination(s). You must also enter the number of passengers and vehicles under your reservation. Select whether you will be going "One Way," "Round Trip" or "Multi Trip" and press "Continue."
Enter the age group of the passenger(s), as well as the number of pets, bikes and kayaks or inflatables. The booking system will then return every sailing that meets your search criteria, as well as fare estimates. Select your sailing and press "Continue."
Choose your return sailing date and press "Continue" to bring up your travel itinerary. Press "Continue" again, and you will be prompted to create a new profile. Then, enter information about any additional passengers, vehicles, pets, bikes and kayaks or inflatables. Finally, enter your credit card information to hold the reservation.
