How to Clean Perfume From a Suitcase

Cleaning the smell of perfume from a suitcase can act as a lifesaver before your next travel engagement. While perfume is often associated with a pleasant aroma, someone may have borrowed your suitcase that happened to use a fragrance to which you are allergic. Additionally, the suitcase may now smell like a lost love. Removing the aroma requires a few basic and natural household items that will make your luggage fragrance-free in no time.

Remove the bowl of baking soda. Place four fresh dryer sheets into the suitcase. Close and secure the lid for 48 hours to give your suitcase a fresh smell.

Dump 1/2 cup cedar wood shavings into a mesh bag. Place the bag into the suitcase. Close and secure the lid for 48 hours. Wood shavings are an additional option for giving your luggage a fresh, outdoor-like smell. Place the wood shavings directly into the luggage -- minus the bag -- to help absorb any damp or minimal puddles of spilled fragrance.
