Find an area where tree sap is on your camper. If the sap is on a fiberglass panel of the camper, proceed to Step 3. If the sap is on the vinyl of canvas, proceed to Step 2.
Place a piece of plywood inside the camper, directly behind the area where the sap is located. Slide one hand into the interior of the camper and hold the plywood in place while cleaning with the other hand. If this is impossible, have a third party hold the plywood in place. The plywood will serve as a support during the cleaning process to prevent stretching and warping of the canvas or vinyl.
Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean rag. Gently rub the sap until the sap is completely removed. If the rag becomes dry or stops removing the sap, pour an additional portion of alcohol on a separate area of the rag. Continue rubbing the sap until it is completely removed.
Attach a garden hose to a faucet and turn the water on. Thoroughly rinse the area where the sap was previously located immediately after the rubbing procedure is completed.
Squeeze a small amount of dish soap into the bottom of a bucket. Fill the bucket with water. Dip a soft scrub brush into the mixture. Gently scrub the area where the sap was located to remove any alcohol residue. Rinse the area completely.
Allow the surface to dry completely. Spray vinyl or canvas areas with a fabric waterproofing spray according to manufacturer's specifications. Allow the spray to dry. Squeeze a small amount of vehicle wax on a rag and spread the wax on the fiberglass panels where the sap was removed using a circular motion. Allow the wax to dry and gently buff the wax with a clean rag.
