How to Adjust a Pop-Up Camper

When you pull up to a campsite with your pop-up camper in tow, you will need to set up the camper before you can use it. This involves stabilizing and leveling it. It usually takes a bit of adjustment to get your camper in just the right spot to set it up. If your camper is not adjusted correctly, the people and things inside of your camper will be unstable, which is unsafe.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up wheel chocks in front and behind the wheels of your pop-up camper.

    • 2

Unhitch the camper from the back of your vehicle.

    • 3

Move your car away from the pop-up camper.

    • 4

Place a level on the frame of the camper.

    • 5

Turn the crank handle on the top of the dolly jack until the bubbles in the level indicate that the camper is leveled. You may need to switch off cranking in clockwise and counterclockwise directions until you achieve the proper positioning.

    • 6

Insert the crank handle into a hole located on one of the four corners of your camper to lower the corner jacks. Your camper is now securely adjusted and ready to be unlatched, set up and used.
