Measure the size of the tear in your camper canvas. Ensure that you have enough patch material to allow for an overlap of 1 inch over the damaged area.
Prepare the damaged area by wiping it clean with alcohol pads. Cut away any lose thread. Cut two patches in a rectangular shape with rounded edges, large enough to cover the damaged area with a 1-inch overlap.
Peel 1/2 inch of the paper backing off the patch. Start to put the patch over the tear on the outside of the camper canvas, starting 1 inch above the tear.
Peel the rest of the paper backing off and slowly smooth the patch down with your other hand, being careful to ensure that there are no air bubbles. Using the other patch, repeat the same process on the inside of the camper canvas to completely cover the damage on both sides.
Apply the adhesive that came with your repair kit around the edges of the patch on the outside of the camper canvas. Repeat on the inside of the camper canvas.
Allow the canvas to dry for a minimum of 30 minutes before exposing the camper canvas to the natural elements again.
