How To Clean a Canvas Tent Camper

Canvas tent campers offer a convenient way to camp. The canvas material allows for proper airflow and is water resistant in most cases. Occasionally, you might need to clean dirt and grime, bird droppings or tree sap from your canvas tent. Since canvas is a low maintenance material, cleaning your tent should only take a few minutes, depending on its size, and always should be done before storing your camper.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up your canvas tent camper.

    • 2

Wipe the tent with a dry cloth or soft brush, starting at the top and working your way down. Wiping it will help to loosen dirt and grime.

    • 3

Dip a soft sponge in water, ring it out and use it to wipe the tent. Start from the top and work toward the bottom. Do not over saturate the sponge.

    • 4

Add a small amount of non-lanolin laundry soap flakes to the water if you have any stubborn stains and repeat Step 3.

    • 5

Rinse the sponge and wipe the canvas once more to remove any soap.

    • 6

Leave the tent up until it is dry. Storing a canvas tent while it is still damp might damage it.
