Malabar Indian Cuisine opened in 2004, when it also received the title of "Best New Restaurant" by Roanoke Magazine. It offers many traditional Indian dishes with an emphasis on those found in the Malabar region, where one of the restaurant's owners, Ram Pai, originates.
From Tuesday through Sunday the restaurant offers a lunch buffet full of salads, appetizers, rice, curries, desserts, and both vegetarian and meat entrees. The buffet menu as a whole changes often. Some of the food offered include channa masala, carrot halava, Malabar chicken and Baingan curry.
Dinner is also served, though it lacks a buffet option. Regional beers and wines from South Africa, South America and New Zealand are also available.
