Buffet Restaurants in Massachusetts

Buffet restaurants can be found across Massachusetts but are most prevalent in the eastern part of the state, near Boston. While many may picture low-cost chain establishments when buffets are mentioned, a range of specialty cuisine buffets are available in Massachusetts. The restaurants are family friendly and provide a casual atmosphere.
  1. Fire + Ice

    • Fire + Ice is a casual dining spot located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Walk into the restaurant and soft, ambient lighting will light the way through an interior that sports modern decor and designs, wood tables and a large open kitchen where diners can watch cooks work. A full bar is also available to sit at and order cocktails from.

The food centers on a Mongolian-style grill. Vegetables, pastas, meats and sauces are laid out buffet-style. This includes everything from sirloin, chicken and calamari to zucchini, broccoli and tofu. At least 10 sauces are available and selections change daily. Diners choose what they want to be part of their dish, drop it into a bowl and take it to the grill to get cooked. Back at the table, rice and tortillas are warm and waiting. While the restaurant does see good crowds, reservations are not needed. It can be reached on the Green Line at the Arlington stop.

    Midwest Grill

    • Midwest Grill brings the taste and decor of a Brazilian steakhouse to Cambridge. The interior is massive and full of dark wood, dim lighting and long grills. The star of the restaurant is the meat, which is brought to tables by a slew of constantly moving servers. Just pick what cuts look good to you and they will be grilled and brought to the table. Some of what is offered includes pork loin, beef sirloin, lamb, Brazilian sausage and kielbasa. This style of dining is called churrasco a rodizio and it is a style found throughout Brazil. Live music plays during the evenings on weekends and diners are welcome to as much of the food as they want. Vegetables and bread are also available. The restaurant has been featured in the Best of Boston lists by Boston Magazine in 2003 and 2007.
