Gay Clubs in Southern California

Southern California is full of daytime activities including amusement parks, beaches, parks, shopping, hiking, water sports and more, according to Visit California. However, the excitement of visiting or living in Southern California as a lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT) person does not end when the sun goes down. The Los Angeles and San Diego areas are known for being LGBT friendly and offer a large variety of nightlife options including clubs that cater to LGBT clientele.

With regular drink specials and nightly themed parties or events, Fubar offers a variety of club experiences for the LGBT community. According to the website, every weekend night drinks are two for one during certain hours and the club features events such as "Metro Mondayz," "The Betty" Ladies Night, and "The Duke" Saturdays, just to name a few.

    The Palms Bar

    • The Palms Bar, located in Los Angeles, California, has been around for almost 40 years. The bar has always offered local women a casual place to get a drink and enjoy the company of a culturally, racially, and socially diverse community of women including biker ladies and beach girls. The club, which has been renovated and changed hands since 2008, is open on Tuesday and Friday through Sunday nights. Each night the club features a different theme or event including a Jazz evening, Ladies night, and couples events.     • Rich's San Diego, a nightclub that is located in the heart of a local LGBT neighborhood called Hillcrest, is open Wednesday through Sunday nights and attracts a diverse crowd of locals and visitors. According to the website, Rich's is the largest LGBT nightclub in the area, consisting of two large rooms that each contain a bar, a dance floor, and VIP areas. Rich's hosts theme nights, special events on weekends, and also offers an area that can be booked for private gatherings and parties.
