The Boquet is one of Boise's premiere live music venues as well as one of its oldest - originally situated in a different building on Main Street, The Boquet dates back to 1902. The venue adopted the alternative name "Blues Boquet" in the 70s as it became an all-blues club; however, today the music is much more varied, featuring for example a hip hop night on Thursdays and punk night on Mondays. The bar's primary aesthetic is its large, cherry-stained mahogany back bar, which dates back to the first venue location in the early 1900's. Happy hour specials run daily from 5 to 7 p.m.; additional libations include house whiskey blends as well as other spirits, cocktails and 16 beers on tap. Previous performances at The Boquet include Bonnie Raitt, The Robert Cray Band and Taj Mahal.

Humpin' Hannahs is a casual night club and lounge featuring live music and dancing as well as drink specials and themed events. Wednesdays and Thursdays are cover free; Wednesday is ladies' night with local radio broadcasts on site, while Thursday offers Karaoke and guitar hero contests. The Rocci Johnson Band is the house act, hosting Hannah's House Party on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 p.m. to close, also featuring games and DJs. VIP service may be reserved; Humpin Hannah's is available for private parties and special events. The club is open Wednesday through Saturday nights.

The Knitting factory has had successful locations in Los Angeles and New York City for years, attracting some of the biggest national and international touring acts passing through the area. Formerly The Big Easy Club, there is now a Knitting Factory location in Downtown Boise, featuring a 1,000 capacity concert area in addition to the adjacent Alterknit Lounge, open before every show for food and drinks. Dining in the Alterknit Lounge allows priority seating for customers; otherwise, seating comes on a first-come first-serve basis. Musical styles featured at the Boise knitting factory are highly varied; up-coming shows include Hanson, Coheed and Cambria, Bone Thugs and Harmony as well as the Robert Cray Band (information as of September 2010). The knitting factory is also open for special events and dance parties, and may be reserved for private functions.
