Night Clubs in Hong Kong

Although it is just over 400 square miles in size, Hong Kong has a population of more than 7 million people, making it one of the densest regions of the globe. Also, because it is such a modern and dynamic city, Hong Kong has a vibrant night life, especially in the city center, where several night clubs are located.
  1. Club 97

    • Club 97, which is part of the Ninety-Seven Group that runs several clubs and restaurants in Hong Kong, is located on the busy Lan Kwai Fong in the center of the city. The sleek and contemporary decor fits the young socializing crowd that patronizes Club 97, while the island-themed bar adds to the venue's leisurely feel. The music also contributes to the atmosphere, with DJ's spinning everything from reggae to salsa, as well as contemporary R&B. The club also has numerous tables and plush couches, where patrons can relax with their drinks.

    LOST

    • Judging from the logo, which alludes to the hit television series by the same name, LOST is purposely tucked away from the street traffic. Frequented by the young, hip locals, it is not a touristy spot but still maintains an upscale, stylish decor with a two-floor lounge with sofas strewn about. The music at LOST alternates between different types of electro, such as progressive house and break beats, all spun by resident DJs. Although the club serves drinks of all kinds, it is particularly known for its "signature" champagne cocktail. Happy hour at LOST begins at 4 p.m. daily.

    Volar

    • Established in 2004, Volar is divided into two parts, a club section and a lounge section, which together cover 5,000 square feet. The club is where the DJs pump out danceable tunes, from hip-hop to house, and a sophisticated lighting system covers the floor and walls with a spectrum of colors. The lounge, while having an elaborate lighting system of its own, is more mellow, with numerous couches spread throughout. Volar is one of the more popular clubs in Hong Kong, bringing in around 1,000 visitors each weekend.

    Drop

    • Although Drop is considerably smaller than the giant Volar, it still attracts many serious clubbers around Hong Kong. Like most of the venues in the city, this club, situated on Hollywood Road, is clean, chic and filled with young, fashionable clientele looking to mingle. The dance floor, where DJs play a typical clubbing soundtrack of house, funk and break beats, is the main location for interaction. Patrons who want a little more space and comfort and are willing to pay the extra cost can reserve a spot in the club's VIP area.
