Columbus Circle, on the southwest corner of New York City's Central Park, is a bustling hub of activity. A 70-foot granite column is at its center, topped with a marble statue of Christopher Columbus. A Beaux-Arts style fountain surrounds the monument, providing a noise buffer from the traffic and a lively play area for children. Several restaurants are tucked away in the 10 Columbus Circle building, the Time Warner Center, so visitors to this area of the city are never far from a good meal.
Per Se is part of the Thomas Keller restaurant group, calling itself the "urban interpretation" of its sister restaurant, The French Laundry. Some dishes that guests may enjoy include pekin duck with chantarelle mushrooms, foie gras with apples and pistachios, or hearts of palm with cauliflower and dates. Prix fixe menus include a chef's tasting menu and a vegetable tasting menu; service is included with these choices. Jackets are required for both lunch and dinner; T-shirts, jeans, sneakers, and shorts are not permitted. Per Se takes reservations two months ahead of time.
