Pasadena, Maryland, is a small city in Anne Arundel County. Though it is small, there are a number of restaurants found within its borders. Bamboo Bernie’s is a club and restaurant that is particularly popular on weekend nights, when live rock and top 40 bands play on stage. The large dance floor and two bars offered here get packed, while the dining area serves up delicious food. Appetizers include nacho grande platters, coconut shrimp and jerk chicken, which they claim to be famous in the area. For main courses, there are a number of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas and pizzas to choose from. Other dishes include ahi tuna, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, a crab cake platter and tender prime rib. Nightly specials, like NASCAR $2 drafts on Sunday, karaoke on Tuesday and 80s night on Wednesday, make this restaurant a main attraction.

East West Bistro, by Albert Yau, is an upscale, yet casual dining establishment that focuses on pan-Asian cuisine. A large dining space is available along with a room for private parties. Starters here include bountiful soups, like traditional miso and sweet and sour. Appetizers range from spring rolls and steamed dumplings to ground chicken lettuce wraps and calamari with a chili-lemon dip. Main courses include Hunan pork, seasoned crispy jumbo shrimp over a bed of cooked noodles, and a filet of fresh Atlantic salmon. Everything has an Asian twist to it, though many of the meals are inspired by American cuisine. This is also a great restaurant for vegetarians, with many plates focusing on tofu and eggplant, as well as other traditional Asian vegetables.

Jumper’s Grille is a fairly traditional barbecue grill, with pit meats like chicken and pork available as sandwich combos. These make for quick, tasty lunches or customizable entrees. Starters include fried mushrooms, Jumper’s BBQ nachos, seared wasabi tuna bites and bacon-wrapped sea scallops. Burgers are served with grilled Angus beef on a Kaiser roll. There are also five different quesadillas, various cuts of steak and signature dishes like crab cakes and teriyaki glazed mahi mahi. All of this is enjoyed in a casual, down-home atmosphere that is both warm and welcoming.
