The Downtown Seattle Waterfront District offers an array of attractions, shopping, and dining. Visitors to this popular area can take in the sights at the Olympic Sculpture Park or Myrtle Edwards Park. The renowned Seattle Aquarium is also a big draw, as is the Seattle Waterfront Arcade. Many specialty shops are found at the waterfront, such as local wine distributors, arts and crafts galleries, and nostalgia boutiques like Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Naturally, there are several restaurants on the waterfront, including some of the city's best seafood eateries.
The Waterfront Seafood Grill provides an elegant dining experience that features views of Elliott Bay, Magnolia Bluff, and The Space Needle. The restaurant prepares a special crab menu along with a dinner, bar, and cafe menu. The "Cult of the Crab" menu rotates crab dishes such as blue crab Benedict and a steamed red king crab tasting. For dinner, smaller plates feature favorites like spicy crab bisque, Dungeness crab cakes, and wicked shrimp. Some oyster starters are also offered. Shellfish specialties include jumbo prawn cocktail and steamed Manila clams. Entrees feature grilled Pacific swordfish, grilled Alaskan king salmon, seared sashimi grade ahi tuna, and a Thai seafood stew. Steamed Maine lobster is also always in season. Several classic side dishes round out the menu, and a choice wine list complements the various entrees. A special kid's menu is also available, and live piano music is played nightly.
