Located on the Mexican Caribbean in the center of Mexico's so-called Mayan Riviera, Puerto Aventuras is a residential community resort. According to the website Mexico Travel Information, Puerto Aventura is best known for its marina and is one of the hubs for sport fishing in this area.
The Mexico Travel Information website's page for Puerto Aventura states that this resort community is a "quiet alternative to the noisy and more crowded Playa del Carmen."
The region's only maritime museum, Shipwreck Museum, is located in Puerto Aventura. Shipwreck Museum showcases many of the remnants of shipwrecks that happened along the coast of the Mayan Riviera.
The main beach area in Puerto Aventura is Fatima Bay, which boasts 1.5 miles of beachfront. Fatima Bay begins at Chac Hal and ends at the Grand Peninsula.
Puerto Aventura has many activities available for all ages, many of which are suitable for families. Among the activities listed on the Puerto Aventura website are swimming with dolphins, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and fishing. Non-water activities include shopping, golf and tennis.
Located on the Mexican Caribbean coastline, in the state of Quintana Roo (Yucatan Peninsula), Puerto Aventura is situated between Cancun and Tulum, approximately 390 miles from Key West, Florida.
