Learn the language. If you are not fluent in French already and have the time and money to spend on an intensive language course, it might be in your best interest to spend a few weeks learning French at a language school. The more fluent in French you are, the better chance you have of finding employment.

Have your resume and cover letter translated into French by a native speaker. To look as professional as possible, it is important that you make a good first impression to your potential employer and make the process as easy for them as possible by having your resume and cover letter in their native language. Make sure to also follow French protocol and hand write your cover letter after you have it checked over by a native speaker.

Take a course back in the U.S. to become certified as a Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). After you become certified, search for employment opportunities in colleges, high schools or language schools as a language instructor.
