How to Get a Tourist Visa for France

France is one of the most heavily visited countries in the world. According to the World Tourism Organization, international travelers visit Paris more often than any other city in the world. Before applying for a tourist visa for a visit to France, however, take a minute to verify that you need one. Citizens of the United States and people of many other nationalities are not required to obtain a tourist visa before entering France. As long as you have a valid U.S. passport, you are good to go. If you are of a nationality for which a tourist visa is required, the process takes a bit of effort.
