Download and print the Temporary Resident Visa application from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
Gather supporting documentation for application. You need two passport photos, a filing fee of $75, and proof that you have enough funds to visit Canada--for example, a bank statement. You may need other documentation if the Citizenship and Immigration Canada office requests it.
Mail application and all supporting documentation to the Canadian visa office where you reside.
Interview with a Canadian immigration officer. The Canadian visa office will look over your application and determine whether you need to interview. If you do, you will be informed of the time and location for your interview.
Pass medical evaluation. If you are planning to stay in Canada for more than six months, you will be required to have a medical evaluation.
Get approved. If your application is approved, your visa will be mailed to you. Processing a visa usually takes one month or less.
