      Obtain the application for the tourist visa, and fill it out. This application can be found by contacting the Mexican Embassy or Consulate in your country. Correctly complete all parts of the form. An incomplete application will result in denial and require another submission.

      Have one passport-sized photo taken of yourself. It must have a simple white background and be 2 inches by 2 inches.

      Gather your return trip information, bank statements or credit card bills to prove you have enough money for the trip, employment information, and a purpose of visit statement. Add all these documents to the application.

      Pay the visa application fee, which is required for processing of the documents. The fee is $36 and is only payable by cash.

      Submit the completed application along with all necessary documents and a cover letter stating the purpose of the trip and travel dates. Allow for 24 hours for the visa to be processed. It can be picked up from the General Consulate of Mexico's office the next day.
