Determine the appropriate application based on the reason you are entering the UK. If you're applying online, print out the final application. On the application, you will have to provide an address where you'll be staying in the UK and evidence you can support yourself financially during your stay. You will need a separate, complete application for each person traveling (e.g., if you are traveling with two children, you will need three forms).
Make an appointment at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC) or British Embassy to officially submit your application.
Hand in your application and supporting materials at the VAC or Embassy. These supporting materials include your passport, passport-sized photograph and the fees if you have not paid online. At the appointment, an official will take your biometric data---a 10-digit finger scan and digital photograph.
Wait for the application to be processed by an Entry Clearance Officer. This typically takes 2 to 15 days, but usually no more than 60 days.
Receive your passport from the embassy with the new visa. Once you receive it, make sure the personal details, travel dates and reason for the visa are correct.
