How to Obtain a Chinese Visa Direct

A visa is a legal document which states that the government of a country that is not your home country has given you permission to visit for a specific purpose. The Chinese government allows American citizens to obtain tourist, business, student, employment, transit, journalist or service visas. Obtaining a visa is necessary before traveling to China because it will be requested upon entry. The procedure to obtain a Chinese visa requires that you visit the Chinese embassy or a consulate in person to apply.
