How to Camp at Beavers Bend

Beavers Bend State Park is located about seven miles north of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and calls itself "one of the most popular parks in the region." Campers can indulge in a variety of outdoor activities during their visit to Beavers Bend, including river rafting, hiking, biking and various water sports. Tent camping and recreational vehicle (RV) campsites are available at Beaver Bend, and the park management recommends that RV campers make reservations to ensure a spot in the park.

      Visit the Beavers Bend website at Beaversbend.com detailing available camping options.

      Choose the type of camping you plan to do. You can select RV camping or tent camping. Beavers Bend maintains three basic types of camping areas: 15 primitive camping areas (often chosen by tent campers,) six semi-modern camping areas (often chosen by RV campers because electric and water connections are included) and two modern camping areas (also frequently chosen by RV campers since these include electric, water and sewer connections, as well as a dump station and bathing house nearby).

      Call Beavers Bend park at 1-800-435-5514 to request a reservation for the dates you plan to camp at Beavers Bend if you are RV camping. If you are tent camping, reservations are not available, but you can ask the park management if the park is estimated to be at full capacity during your visit.

      Bring food and any camping supplies (such as firewood) with you when you arrive at Beavers Bend. A small grocery store is available on-site, and carries many basic camping supplies if you forget any essentials.

      Visit the Beavers Bend park office to rent any equipment you need for water sports. The park office rents jet skis, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and bumper boats by the hour.

      Obtain a Beavers Bend park map from the park office. The map gives detailed information about the hiking and biking trails, as well as pointing out areas of interest.
