How to Enjoy Biloxi, Mississippi

Biloxi, pronounced Bi-lux-ee, is not a pretty town, but it offers unsurpassed fishing, huge doses of Southern history, hospitality and gambling casinos everywhere you look. Old Biloxi is a tree-shaded oasis of tranquility, while across highway 90, shrimp and oyster fleets unload their catches. Biloxi is a shrine to unrepentant Confederates and, until Hurricane Katrina destroyed it, the last home of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy. You can probably find a copy nearby of "Why the South was Right" in an issue of Southern Partisan magazine.
