Select a new upgraded plan. Think about how often you reasonably expect to visit Disneyland during the course of a year, and what kind of upgraded plan your budget will allow for. There are three plans, the cheapest plan, which you may have, is the Deluxe Annual Passport and costs $299 per year. Deluxe pass holders are allowed to visit both Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure Park on 315 pre-selected dates during a calender year. This pass however, restricts a passholder from entering the park on a blockout date. The Premium Annual Passport costs a little more, $439 as of 2010, but allows you to visit the parks on any day, no blockout dates apply. The most expensive package is the Disney Premier Passport. This annual pass cost $700, but you are allowed to visit the two California parks with no blockout dates and unlimited access to all other Disney parks, which include Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Go to the ticket booth at a Disneyland Park, or to the Annual Passport Processing Center inside the park. Unfortunately, you can not upgrade your pass online. Once at the park, request the upgraded annual pass that you want.
Pay the difference right there between your current annual pass and the upgraded pass price. For example, if you are upgrading from a Deluxe to a Premium, you will be required to pay about $140. Either cash or credit card will be accepted. Be advised that the expiration date of your new upgraded pass will be the same date as your current pass. So make sure there is enough time left in the calendar year to make upgrading financially worth it.
