Plan ahead. You can purchase tickets to Disneyland Park, as well as make other travel plans such as hotel reservations at Disneyland Resort Hotels, up to a year in advance on the Disneyland website.

Fly to Los Angeles. If you live more than a few hundred miles away, you may want to make your trip to Disneyland by air. Disneyland is located in Anaheim, Calif., about 30 miles south of Los Angeles. The closest airport is Los Angeles International.

Arrive at the park. Whether or not you fly to Los Angeles, you will need to drive to the park itself. Disneyland park is accessible from the I-5 exit on Disneyland Drive. Opening times change based on the day of the week and time of year. During the summer, the park generally opens at 8 a.m., but it is best to check before arriving. It is best to come early to ensure adequate parking and shorter ticket lines.

Dress appropriately. July in Southern California can be extremely hot, so dress in cool layers. Also note that Disneyland does have a dress code that prohibits transparent clothes, gang-related clothes, offensive or obscene T-shirts, excessively torn clothing and bikinis. Shoes and shirts are required for all guests, and adults are asked to refrain from wearing costumes.
