How to Spend Your First Visit to Disney World

No matter what age you are, your first visit to Walt Disney World is always a magical one. From the rides, shows, restaurants and, of course, your first picture with Mickey, there are memories to be made around every corner. Theme parks to choose from within Disney World include the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Here are some ways to make your first trip to the happiest place on earth a true experience to remember.

Instructions

Be sure to visit guest services at Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, or City Hall in Magic Kingdom, to obtain a "First Visit to Disney World" button. When cast members see you sporting this button, they'll be sure to greet you with a bigger smile than usual, ask how you're enjoying your stay so far and do what they can to make it a vacation you'll always remember.

When visiting the characters, be sure to have an official autograph book and pen ready to collect autographs from all your favorite characters. A Disney World tradition, this is fun for children of all ages and makes for a great souvenir to take home!

Consider getting personalized Mouse Ears for your first-time visitor. Another tradition associated with all visitors to Disney World, this personalized souvenir is iconic of any Disney World trip and will spark memories of the trip for years to come.

Make use of the Disney PhotoPass. With cast members at all character locations and iconic photo spots throughout the parks, getting a PhotoPass CD full of all the pictures from your trip makes it easy for you to not have to keep track of a camera and still come home with all the memorable pictures you'll want to frame and put into albums.

Be sure to book a character dining meal. Donald's Safari Breakfast in Animal Kingdom, Crystal Palace breakfast, lunch or dinner with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at Magic Kingdom and/or Princess Storybook Dining at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot are just three of dozens of character dining opportunities that will put a smile on any visitor's face. This is also an easy way to meet a large number of the characters at once without having to wait outside in long lines.
