Research. With different Flash Pass options, you may want to check the website of the Six Flags park you plan to visit. Research the options and which rides are available to Flash Pass users. For instance, standard electronic Flash Passes allow you to select rides and make reservations. You'll have to wait for your assigned time for the ride, but instead of standing in line, you are free to enjoy other rides in the park while your place in line is "saved." The "Gold" version of the electronic Flash Pass, available at a higher cost, allows you to board with very short wait times, usually 15 to 30 minutes. Paper Flash Passes are simply tickets you purchase separately for specific rides. They allow you access to a special entrance where you'll be able to board quickly.
Electronic Flash Passes are called Q-bots. They're similar to the flashing pods some restaurants give customers to alert them when their table is ready. You can buy Flash Passes online, but you get them inside the park. You'll be required to watch a short, instructional video explaining how the electronic Flash Pass works.
To make a ride reservation, scroll through the list on the Q-bot screen. You'll see time slots when reservations for specific rides are available. Select your ride and show up any time after your reserved time. The Q-bot pod will vibrate to remind you of your reservation. Reservations do not expire and you may cancel at no cost.
Once you are in the Flash Pass line, an employee will check your Q-bot to make certain you have arrived at the right time. This clears your Flash Pass and allows you to make your next reservation. After your reservation has been approved, you will be allowed to board.
