    • There are five types of guided tours offered at the Kennedy Center: walk-in tours for the general public, group tours for 20-60 people, access tours for those needing listening devices or sign-interpreted, foreign language tours for international visitors and VIP tours for special groups that have been approved by the center. A tour of the Kennedy Center consists of John F. Kennedy interactive exhibits, the events that established the national cultural center, the Hall of States of Nations and five main theaters, as well as a 360-degree view of the nation's capital from Kennedy Center's roof terrace. The Kennedy Center is open weekdays 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on weekends. Tickets can be bought online, at the box office or by phone.     Smithsonian National Zoological Park

    • The Smithsonian National Zoological Park consists of 163 acres featuring animals and exhibits. Each month the zoo has different programs, from elephant viewing to octopus feeding. You can find the zoo's calendar for each event at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park website.The Smithsonian National Zoological Park has several restaurants, a picnic area, public restrooms, ATM and a store onsite. The park offers stroller rentals; however, there are no lockers or storage areas. The Smithsonian National Zoological Park admission is free and the zoo is open every day except for December 25.     The Smithsonian Museums

    • The Smithsonian Museums consist of 19 museums, 168 affiliated museums and nine research centers. The museums have permanent and temporary exhibits as well as the Smithsonian IMAX theater, Discovery Theater and the Albert Einstein Planetarium. The Smithsonian Museums have more than 100 million objects, artworks and specimens. Admission is free and the museums are open every day except December 25.
