"Remember the Alamo" is one of the most famous phrases in American history. The Battle of the Alamo lasted from Feb. 23 to March 6, 1836, during the Texas Revolution. Texians and Tejanos tried to defend the Alamo mission against a greater number of Mexican soldiers. While the defenders failed, the memory of the battle served as a rallying cry during the war. Today, visitors can learn about the war and Texas history at the site, as well as enjoy the Alamo Gardens.
