Plan your visit. The Georgia Aquarium is open every single day of the year, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sunday through Friday. It opens an hour early and closes its doors an hour later every Saturday. Purchase your admission tickets. The Georgia Aquarium offers different types of admission: general admission, general admission plus "behind the scenes tours," the premium day pass, and a variety of combination packages. If you are traveling with a group of 25 or more people, The Georgia Aquarium offers ticket discounts. Consider purchasing a family membership if you live in the Atlanta area or think you may frequent the aquarium in a calendar year. Tickets can be purchased on The Georgia Aquarium Website, by calling 1-404-581-4000 or upon arrival at the aquarium. Remember: there are no refunds for purchased tickets.
Get directions to The Georgia Aquarium. If driving, the aquarium is conveniently located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The address is 225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, Georgia, 30313. Situated across from Centennial Olympic Park, the Aquarium is easily accessible from I-85, I-75 and I-20. If taking Atlanta's public transportation system MARTA, use the CNN Center or Peachtree Center train stops.
Arrive at aquarium. Present or purchase tickets at the ticket window. You will get a current Georgia Aquarium exhibit map. With exhibits and animals changing frequently, ask the aquarium representative about current highlights and any special events or tours that may be happening that day.
Experience the Georgia Aquarium. Give yourself and your family 2 to 4 hours to visit the entire aquarium. Exciting exhibits include: Cold Water Quest, Georgia Explorer, Ocean Voyager, River Scout, and Tropical Diver. Some aquarium highlights include the beluga whales, sting-ray touch pool, whale sharks, piranhas, and coral reefs. Walk through exhibit tunnels and view the aquatic life up-close in complex environments.
Watch Deepo's Undersea 3-D Wondershow. This fun, informational show will have children giggling in their seats. Jellyfish swim. Sea turtles sing, and dolphins play before their eyes.
Follow the rules. The Georgia aquarium does not allow outside food, beverages, gum, knives, lighters, matches, or guns inside the doors. Strollers are welcome; however, they do not offer stroller rentals. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
