International Calling Instructions

When calling other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada (calling to Canada is exactly the same as placing U.S. calls, and no additional numbers are required), you must use an exit code and a specific country code for the location you are contacting. This is going to vary depending on where you are calling, but it only takes a moment or two longer to dial the numbers of foreign countries.

Instructions

    • 1

Dial "011." This is the exit code for all calls exiting the U.S. and Canada to other countries.

    • 2

Dial the country code for the specific county. The code will vary depending on the country you are calling. If you don't have it, you can look up the country code on the HowToCallInternational.com website (see Resource).

    • 3

Type in the area code of the number you are dialing. This code can be anywhere from one to three numbers.

    • 4

Dial in the remainder of the number you wish to call. Once completed, the phone call is connected and the call request is sent to the opposite telephone line in the foreign country.
