This cozy little club is the place to be when you’ve got the blues -- or when you want to get them. Named the “Best Blues Club in the Country” by the Blues Foundation in 2004, Theodores offers up the mike to live blues every Friday and Saturday night. With exposed brick walls, ultra-dim lighting and dark wainscoting, the vibe is cool and casual. Come hungry so you can sample the deep-fried pickles, and then choose from an array of sauces for your ribs, wings, brisket or pulled pork; your choices include bourbon-simmered BBQ sauce, spicy Cajun sauce and smoked jalapeno chipotle sauce. After dinner, rock out with the live music and sip a classic mint julep, New Orleans-style Hurricane, or Texas Tea. Open daily until 2 a.m.

With three clubs and three DJs, you can come to SkyPlex and keep everyone in your group happy. Inspired by the hip Vegas nightclub scene, the sophisticated Club Pure features chandeliers, progressive house music and multiple seating levels (including a VIP area). The second club, Vivid, features a wall-to-wall music video screen. Head to the top of the building to experience SkyBar, an outdoor lounge with dance and Top 40 tunes. Most nights at SkyPlex are strictly 21-and-over; in January 2010, only Thursday nights were open to the 18-and-over crowd. Each of the three clubs offer full bars, private bathrooms and intimate seating. Bring your $5 cover and your best dance moves. Open to 2 a.m.

If you love live music, this is the place for you. Bands appear four nights a week, and the music is always what’s most important here. As a result, the décor isn’t fancy: the VIP area consists of a low-slung red leather sofa, black club chair, and small end table. However, with three bars, you won’t have to wait long for a drink. Wednesday is hip-hop night, Thursday is Latin night, and Friday and Saturday are all about the live music. Most acts booked here are indie rock; bands appearing in 2010 include Never In Vegas, The Kings and Aquanett. Open Wednesday through Saturday until 2 a.m.
