How to Make a Personal RV First Aid Kit

The advantage of making a personal RV first aid kit is it can be customized to fit your personal needs. An RV first aid kit should include basic items in case you are far from stores. An RV driver also has to consider the climate in which he is driving. Something appropriate for a trip through Arizona may not work for a trip through Canada. Each RV rider should know where the kit is and how to use everything in it for the contents to have value.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert basic medical supplies in a waterproof first aid bag. These items should include sterile gloves, antiseptic cream, burn relief ointment, hydrocortisone cream, calamine lotion, medicated sunburn spray or cream, lip ointment, antiseptic spray, adhesive bandages, gauzes, eye wash, cotton swabs, hydrogen peroxide, sterile water, scissors, a thermometer, tweezers and first aid tape.

    • 2

Include any personal medications in a separate bag. Add any over-the-counter pain medicines to this bag, as well as a list of important contacts such as doctors and insurance agents.

    • 3

The kit should have some items for safety in case the RV gets stuck or breaks down. These items include a whistle, a knife, clean string, water purifying tablets, flashlights and extra batteries, a fire steel, and a space blanket. A disposable camera could come in handy too in case photos need to be taken of an accident.
