People dress up in order to ensure entry to shows, fine restaurants and nightclubs. Wearing anything less than formal wear in the evening may jeopardize your entry into certain venues.
Nightclubs within the casinos usually enforce a strict dress code. Collared shirts with slacks is an acceptable look for men. For women, acceptable attire includes dresses, skirts and blouses. In general, you can't go wrong wearing "business casual" clothing.
When walking the strip in the sweltering heat of the summer, shorts with flip-flops are a good idea. In the winter, a jacket or even sweatshirt with jeans will keep you warm.
