Navigate to a currency conversion website. There are many currency conversion websites to choose from, but a good practice is to see if, and when, the website updates its information. The exchange rates are volatile and change frequently, so you want to find a website that updates frequently as well.
Select the option that allows you to convert Great Britain pounds into U.S. dollars. Most websites will use a scrolling menu or a drop-down menu that allow you to choose currencies. Be sure to choose the Great Britain pound, often marked as GBP, as the first currency and the U.S. dollar, often marked USD, as the currency into which the pound will be converted.
Click the button that calculates the conversion. Often this is simply called "Convert," "Go" or "Calculate." Once you click the button the current conversion rate will appear.
