Create an online account with your American Express card, if you have not already done so. The card number, your social security number, date of birth and mailing address are required.
Log into your American Express account on the American Express website. Under "Additional Products and Services," select "Travelers Cheques."
Select the denomination and quantity of travelers checks that you want to order. If you have more than one registered American Express credit card, you have to select the card you want the cost of the travelers checks charged.
Verify your order and confirm your shipping address. Select a shipping method and click "Purchase" to complete the sale."
Create an online account for your American Express card, if you have not already done so. The credit card and personal data is required to create an account.
Log into the American Express website. Your available Membership Rewards points are displayed on the page in the upper right corner under "Log Out."
Click on "Membership Rewards" to go to that section of the website. An account summary showing the balance of your available points, as well as pending points, is displayed. The pending points have a date by them that shows when they are redeemable.
Use your American Express Membership Rewards points for travelers checks. As of December 2009, it takes 20,000 points for a $100 travelers check. Select the quantity and denomination and click "Add to Cart."
Confirm your shipping address and the amount of travelers checks. Select a shipping method and click "Submit" to place your order.
