How to Travel to Hawaii in June

Hawaii's luxurious beaches, lush landscape and tropical climate draw tourist crowds throughout the year. Traveling to the state in June will put you on one of the islands during what's perhaps Hawaii's hottest month. Preparing weeks in advance can ensure the best rates on airfare and hotels and that you won't arrive unprepared to the Aloha State.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit Gohawaii to read about Hawaii's six tourist islands. Choose which island you wish to visit. Each island is different. For example, Lanai has no traffic lights while Oahu is home to the majority of Hawaii's population.

    • 2

Book a flight in advance. June is a popular month for vacations, and airline tickets can be snatched up in a hurry. Don't book your flight at the last minute. Remember that airlines offer the lowest fares in advance and, in particular 21 days before a flight.

    • 3

Find a hotel. Many hotels, like airlines, offer better rates for booking early. Look for any extra fees, such as parking costs, which can add up and break the budget.

    • 4

Book a car rental. Taxis are expensive in this state, making car rental an affordable option. Call the major car rental companies and inquire about rates. Hawaii enforces a $3 daily surcharge for a state highway fund, which rental companies leave out of their quotes.

    • 5

Pack the sunscreen. The average temperature in Honolulu is 87 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Weather Channel, and Hawaii isn't known for a string of cloudy days.
