Locate the address or coordinates of the two places you want to determine the distance between, if possible. Roughly determine the location if you cannot get an exact address.
Enter the addresses or coordinates into a mapping website such as Google Maps Distance Calculator or Infoplease Distance Calculator. Find the locations on the map if you do not know the address. Zoom in as far as you need to locate the points of interest and to get the most accurate distance.
Measure the distance on a paper map. Find the points of interest on the map and measure the distance on the paper with a ruler. Covert the ruler measurement to the actual distance using the map's scale on the map.
