How to Find the Distance From City to City

Finding out the distance between cities has become an easy task with technological advances. In seconds, you can map your multiday trip anywhere in the world with step-by-step driving directions and an estimated arrival time. You can even select alternate routes based on time, mileage and scenery. Some programs will also let you know how much your trip will cost in tolls, an estimated fuel charge and a breakdown of highway and non-highway miles.

      Choose your route (more than one will display if there are options).

      Read the distance and time the route will take to complete.

      Log onto http://www.mapquest.com and click on "Get Directions" in the top left-hand corner.

      Enter your start and end locations. Click "Get Directions" for your results.

      Select the suggested route you would like to travel. View your trip time.

      Map your route on http://www.viamichelin.co.uk by entering your starting and ending locations under "Calculate Your Route."

      Specify your mode of transportation. Click on "Search."

      View the time and distance that render from your search. Michelin is so sophisticated that it will also tell you how much you will pay in tolls, your estimated fuel charges and weather reports in your start and ending destinations.
