Certain documents are useful when you travel. If you're traveling outside the country, don't forget your passport and ticket. Bring your driver's license, and if want other ways to pay for things aside from cash and credit cards, bring along some traveler's checks. Bring your insurance details, vaccination history and other medical documents if appropriate. Write or print a list of important telephone numbers and keep it with you at all times. To be extra safe, bring photocopies of all of the above documents and keep them in a different travel bag.
Stay healthy and safe when you travel. In sunnier climates, bring sunglasses and lotion with SPF to protect yourself from the sun's rays. Pack an extra pair of glasses or disposable contact lenses. Keep hand sanitizer, insect repellent and tissue paper handy. Invest in a money belt, which you can wear around your waist under your clothing. A Swiss army knife, with it's many small tools, can always come in handy. Bring common medicines, such as those for headaches and diarrhea, as well as a small first-aid kit. Pack disinfectant spray or wipes for use in the bathroom. Furthermore, always bring a water bottle to make staying hydrated convenient.
The clothing and shoes that you'll be packing for your trip will depend on where you'll be going. If you're going somewhere warm, pack a swimsuit, a wide-brimmed hat, swimsuit cover ups, shorts, skirts, sandals, flip-flops, T-shirts, and tank tops. For colder weather, pack long-sleeved shirts, sweaters, a jacket, long pants, a scarf, ear muffs, socks, gloves, thermal underwear, and boots or sneakers. Finally, don't forget to bring your underwear and pajamas.
Don't be stuck without your accessories. Bring a cell phone, camera, book and a journal. You can also bring an eye mask, a neck pillow, travel candles, a towel, a robe, a comb or hairbrush, and hair accessories such as a hair band, clips and ponytail holders. Take along a zippered case where you can put all your cell phone and MP3 chargers or CDs.
Every girl should pack her own toiletries when going on a trip. Essentials for your toiletry kit are shampoo and conditioner, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant. Bring travel-sized shampoo and conditioner, or transfer them to travel-sized containers so you don't have to take large bottles with you. Also pack face and body lotion, face wash, dental floss, lip balm and a razor. Include some cotton balls and swabs in a plastic zip-top bag, and remember feminine hygiene products such as panty liners, tampons and sanitary napkins.
