Packing toiletries for a trip can seem simple enough, but you don't want to be without necessary items while away from home. A poorly packed toiletry kit can add unnecessary weight to bags, and can result in spills or leaks on your clothes. There are a few things to consider, while packing toiletries for a vacation -- whether it is out of the country -- across the county -- or to a relative's house for the weekend.

      Find a tolietry bag that is perfect for you.

      Choose a bag that will best suite your needs. There are many types of toiletry bags for traveling. There are classic one compartment bags, those with multiple compartments, and bags that can be hung from a doorknob or towel rack. If you will be traveling by plane, a smaller bag for your non-liquid toiletries and prescriptions is fitting.

      Most hotels provide sample sized toiletries.

      Decide what you need to bring with you. If you are traveling to a cold climate, you may want to bring extra hand lotion. Most hotels provide customers with travel size shampoos and conditioners. If you will be staying in a hotel, you will not need to pack a large number of these items.
