In addition, a travel vest can be more comfortable to wear than a purse. This is because the weight of the load is evenly distributed across the body instead of on the arm.

      Empty your purse out. On a table large enough to hold the contents of the bag, sort through it and separate the essential items from the nonessentials. Examples of essential items include money, credit cards, driver's license, cell phone and in some cases, makeup.

      Lay your travel vest out on the table. With the vest laying down, plan where to put your essential items. Look at the size of the pockets as compared to the size of your items. Strategically plan where you want to place the items in an effort to maximize the amount that you can carry.

      Place your items in the pocket. Put the vest on to see how it fits. Check for overall comfort and weight distribution of the items. If the vest is uncomfortable, try to rearrange the items so that it fits better.
