How to Avoid Carry On Luggage Fees

Most airlines charge for checked baggage. To avoid the fees, many people have started carrying on all of their bags. Because of the increase in carry-on luggage, airlines have begun enforcing their carry-on restrictions more diligently. If your carry-on bag doesn't meet the airline's requirements, you will be required to check it, which will cost you money. Avoid the extra fees by making sure your carry-on meets the requirements for the airline you are flying.

  Check the website of the airline you are flying to see what the size restrictions for carry-on luggage are. Restrictions vary, but most airlines require that bags be no more than 22 to 24 inches tall and 14 to 17 inches wide.
