What happens if your learners permit expires in Maryland?

In Maryland, if your learner's permit expires, you must renew it before you can continue driving. To renew your permit, you must:

- Complete a new application for a learner's permit.

- Pay the required fee.

- Pass the written test again.

- Provide proof of vision screening and a certificate of satisfactory completion of a driver's education course.

Once you have completed all of the above, you will be issued a new learner's permit that is valid for one year.
