Can you travel to Italy on a US passport with 4 months expiry date?

"As of June 1, 2023, if your passport only has three months before the expiration date, you may not be able to travel to or around the Schengen Area. Even if you have a valid visa, airlines or other carrier can deny you boarding if your passport is set to expire within three months of your expected Schengen Area travel dates."
