Can you get malaria in Cyprus?

Malaria has been eliminated from Cyprus since the 1970s thanks to effective control measures implemented by the Cypriot authorities with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO). The country has maintained zero indigenous cases of malaria since then, and it is considered a malaria-free zone by WHO.
