      Locate the national consulate of your destination by reviewing a complete list of foreign embassies in Barbados. Set an appointment to appear in person for the passport application process.

      Complete a passport application form during your appointment. This is also often available for download from the embassy Web site of your destination. Printing and completing the application beforehand may save you processing time.

      Prepare to submit two to five copies of identical passport photos. The standard requirements for passport photos in most countries is 2 x 2 inches in size, taken against a light background. They must be taken without glasses or anything worn on the head.

      Provide an acceptable form of identification and proof of citizenship, which may include a birth certificate, valid photo ID, naturalization card, and other legal documentation. Each country upholds different standards for valid forms of ID.

      Pay the processing and service fees, which will vary with each designated consulate and whether or not you require expedited service. Passports are processed anywhere from one business day to several weeks and can be sent to you by post at an extra cost.
